Available doses of Viagra include 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. The drug is advised not to be taken more than once a day. Orally administered, the drug is to be taken about 30 minutes to four hours prior to sexual activity. To treat pulmonary hypertension, 20mg tablets thrice a day is prescribed.
The drug’s side effects include headache, runny nose, flushing and nasal congestion. Visual impairments are also reported along with hearing loss. Hypotensive patients are not supposed to take the drug. Other drugs containing nitrated should also be avoided. Patients with hepatic impairment and heart attack are strongly advised to consult their physician before taking the drug.
